In 1986 The National Exporters Association (NEA) was established to support the exporters of Sri Lanka. In 1994 it was incorporated as The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) becoming the only trade Chamber in Sri Lanka serving exclusively to the Export Sector. The Membership of the Chamber is open to all exporters of products & services and suppliers of products and services to the export industry

The services related to Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) ensures optimum and efficient use of resources, reduction and recycling of waste, with a cleaner production environment. NCPC provides training and awareness related to all the services they provide. Apart from that center conducts training programs on novel environmental concepts such as Life Cycle analysis, Eco design, Eco innovation, Environmental management and accounting, Responsible care and responsible production. NCE-NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF EXPORTS (NIOE)

The NIOE, educational arm of NCE signed a MoU with Colombo School of Business and Management, a renowned center for higher education to provide professional training and qualification in the field of exports in Sri Lanka. The strategic objective of this initiative is backed by a vision to enhance the export performance of Sri Lanka by introducing professional qualifications in International Trade Management and Export Practices.

The training and qualifications provided by the NIOE, through its well-structured learning techniques, will equip enrolled students to become highly recognized export managers, and reach the pinnacle as a professional in the field of exports. The acquired qualifications will also enable them to obtain ready employment in export oriented enterprises both locally and overseas. At present export managers are mostly self-made, with limited recognition, as opposed to managers in other professional fields.

This strategic move will support Sri Lankan export enterprises by professionally developing and improving their employees thereby adding value to the country’s export industry.
