There are 2 types of certificate of Origin. What are they?
- Certificate of Origin (preferential) - Certificate of Origin, preferential (GSP, GSP+, SAPTA etc) are issued by the Department of Commerce.
- Certificate of Origin (Non-Preferential) – In respect of all other destinations, Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin indicates only the origin of the exported goods. These certificates are normally issued by the authorized Chambers of commerce namely The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, National Chamber of Commerce of Sri lanka and the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries. The Cos issued by the above Chambers are non-preferential and are only meant to confirm the country of origin of products.
